Disasters Happen. Are You Ready?

The City of Cleveland is committed to providing a safe environment for all our citizens. A large part of safety is preparedness of not only safety forces, but also the citizens and visitors of the community.

The “Get A Kit. Make A Plan. Be Informed.” campaign through FEMA is a process developed to help Clevelanders through personal Emergency Preparedness. Public Health and Safety Officials agree that there are steps anyone can take to make sure they are prepared for an emergency.

Get A Kit:

  • Supply kits should be unique to your family’s needs
  • An emergency supply kit can ensure that you and your family have everything you need until emergency services reach you
  • Update your kit regularly to ensure full benefit

Make A Plan:

  • Develop an emergency family plan to protect yourself and loved ones
  • Check in with business and schools to ensure they have a plan as well
  • Don’t forget to include your pets in your planning

Be Informed:

  • Current and up-to-date information is critical in an emergency
  • Have a way to access information and incorporate that in your planning
  • Follow the Cleveland Department of Public Health at: @ClevelandHealth for information on disasters and preparedness
