Health Screenings
The Cleveland Department of Public Health provides certain health care and screening services for free or at low cost to all Cleveland residents. Services include:
- Lead screening (free please make appointment by calling either (216) 664-7095 (J. Glen Smith) or (216) 664-6603 (McCafferty)).
- Childhood immunizations (please bring insurance card and childs shot records). If you do not have insurance, we will still provide services, if applicable.
- Flu shots for adults and children (please bring insurance card)
- TB Testing ($5.00); no testing on Thursdays for both J. Glen Smith and McCafferty health centers.
- STD Treatment, testing and counseling (Please bring insurance card; sliding fee scale based on income). Testing locations include McCafferty Health Center (4242 Lorain Ave.) and J. Glen Smith Health Center (11100 St. Clair Ave). For further information, please see below.
- HIV testing and counseling (free)
- Pregnancy testing (please bring insurance card; sliding fee scale based on income).
- Blood pressure screening part of your visit to our Reproductive Health Clinic.
- Project Dawn clinic: McCafferty Health Center, Thursdays from 4-8pm.
- Sickle cell testing: McCafferty Health Center every Thursday from 12:30pm-4:00pm, please go to Room 233.
- Sickle cell testing: J. Glen Smith Health Center, Thursday mornings from 8:00am-11:am, please go to Room 101. For further information on scheduling an appointment for a sickle cell test at either of our clinics, please call (216) 229-8600.
Hours of Operations:
Reproductive Health Clinic/J. Glen Smith Health Center: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:00a.m. 4:30p.m. Tuesday, 12:00p.m. 8:00p.m. We are open the 2nd Saturday of each month (unless it falls on a holiday weekend in which we would be closed) from 8:00a.m. 12:00p.m. Tuesdays from 4-8pm are teen clinics although all are welcome.
Reproductive Health Clinic/McCafferty Health Center: Monday, 12:30p.m. 4:30p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:00a.m. 4:30p.m., Thursdays, 12:00p.m. 8:00 p.m. We are open the 1st Saturday of each month (unless it falls on a holiday weekend in which we would be closed) from 8:00a.m. 12:00p.m. Thursdays from 4-8pm are teen clinics although all are welcome.
CDPH operates two City Health Centers, and each offers a different range of services. Services are provided in cooperation with MetroHealth Medical Center and the Veterans Administration.
TB Testing:
J. Glen Smith Health Center: During regular operational hours from 8am-4pm (except not the 3rd Wed. afternoon of each month). The fee is $5.00. The clinic is located on the 2nd floor, room 219. We do no testing on Thursdays.
McCafferty Health Center: During regular operational hours from 8am-4pm (except not the 3rd Wed. afternoon of each month). The fee is $5.00. The clinic is located on the 2nd floor, room 233. We do no testing on Thursdays.
